Job Summary: We are seeking an energetic leader who is experienced in ophthalmology, passionate about patient care, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Cataract Services Manager works closely with our cataract surgeons, and provides leadership and guidance to our cataract clinical teams. The Cataract Services Manager is responsible for investing deeply in our teams, developing their career paths, while driving quality and efficiency standards that result in the highest levels of patient satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides daily leadership, guidance and operational oversight to our cataract teams.
  • Manages patient flow, quality initiatives and provides day to day recommendations for continually improving the patient experience.
  • Works directly with our CEO and lead cataract surgeon, functioning as his team lead and practice liaison to provide daily guidance and direction to the team.
  • Works closely with our cataract surgeons to promote clear communication and direction to their teams while support their practice goals.
  • Partners with ASC leadership to promote the surgery patient’s experience and outcomes.
  • Interviews candidates, makes recommendations for hire, provides support for onboarding and training of the team.
  • Provides and supports individual growth opportunities and career development plans. Provides continuous and meaningful feedback, including performance evaluations.
  • Creates work schedules that maximize efficient utilization of the team.
  • Recommends continuous improvements to physicians’ templates and scheduling process to ensure efficient and smooth patient flow, and cohesive staff utilization.
  • Ensures availability of medical and office supplies and supports inventory management.

Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced, requires strong time management skills, and is focused on results-driven leadership. The Cataract Services Manager must be able to self-manage, and work independently.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried position. Salaried staff are required to balance work demands with and performance with personal needs.
Travel to multiple locations is required.
Education and Experience:
  • High school graduate
  • Previous work experience in ophthalmology.
  • Associates’ or Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business, healthcare administration or related fields (preferred but not required).
  • Technology savvy, with competency in Office Suite and ability to learn software applications as required.
