CERTIFIED CORRECTIONS TECH
SUMMARY
The Certified Corrections Tech MUST BE CERTIFIED BY FDC and performs duties assigned in the areas of legal process, including general custodial and detention functions essential to the operation of the work release center. The position is responsible for the performance of dispatching functions as required and assigned. The corrections tech ensures that the detention center is operating in a peaceful manner and the safety of all clients.
Our ideal candidate will be empathetic, a team player, have excellent boundaries, written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, and willing to learn and understand some aspects of the correctional system in Florida and represent yourself as a positive role model.

Qualifications
This position requires an HS diploma or equivalent
Must have a current, Florida Department of Corrections-issued, certification as a Certified Corrections Officer
Ability to participate in our Drug-Free workplace program
Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Education and Experience
One year of college or vocational school. 4+ years of experience working with the incarcerated or criminal justice-involved population. Completion of 15 semesters or 23 term college credits in one or a combination of the following areas: correctional administration, criminal justice, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology, counseling and guidance, educational psychology, family relations, pastoral counseling, or law enforcement. One year of law enforcement experience.
