Job Description
The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) will facilitate psychoeducational groups each day and complete daily post discharge follow-up calls to ensure discharged clients have been successfully connected with an aftercare provider and are experiencing no barriers to accessing care. CPS participate in discharge planning and assist clients in linking with clinically appropriate resources for housing, treatment, employment, higher levels of care, etc. CPS will meet with all clients initially and ongoing to orient to services and answer any questions regarding treatment.
Requirements
Must be a certified peer specialist in the state of Georgia. – A CPS is an individual who is trained and certified to provide ongoing support to individuals to individuals and their families receiving mental health and substance use services. Certified Peer Specialists work from the perspective of their lived experience to help build environments of recovery. They promote hope, personal responsibility, empowerment, education, and self-determination in the communities they serve. CPSs are trained to assist others in skill building, problem solving, setting up and maintaining self-help mutual support groups and building self-directed recovery tools. A critical role of the CPS in willingness to self-identify their lived experience, using it as a tool for helping others in developing recovery goals and specific steps to reach those goals.
Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and no driver may have 6 or more points against his/her license within the last five years. No driver may have had a DUI or suspended license within the last five years.

- Bilingual a plus

This is a full time (36 hour, 8a-8p with alternating weekends) position and is subject to organizational benefits.
