Overview:
Job Summary:
- The Chart Research Representative HM - QA is responsible for reviewing medical files to ensure accuracy and validate that Chart Research Department procedures are followed.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Monitors quality via reporting on one Chart Research Representative per week to ensure team is meeting quality goals
- Coaches Chart Research Representatives if goals are not being met
- Collaborates with Chart Research Supervisor and Chart Research Manager to find and develop training and system enhancement opportunities
- Alerts Chart Research Supervisor and Chart Research Manager to any trends
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least six (6) months of experience in handing patient health information and/or medical records
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information
- Working knowledge of department roles and responsibilities
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) such as Cerner, Meditech, Epic, PICIS
- Strong supervisory/management skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and effectively troubleshoot while focusing on innovative solutions
- Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle highly sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast paced environment
- Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner
