What is it?

A one-year program where you will be in a cohort with 10-15 other like-minded individuals. You will finish with valuable hands-on experience in critical areas of life to be positioned for greater success in your future.


We are looking for full-time, enthusiastic, hard-working, servant leaders to join our family at Chick-fil-A. We pride ourselves on having the best people in the business. This is a fast-paced environment and we have high expectations of our employees, and higher expectations for our leaders.


The Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy is targeted at individuals that have a passion to grow, to learn, and to lead. All candidates will start as either a front counter or a kitchen team member and will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position at an accelerated pace. We make no guarantee that a candidate will grow into a leadership position however; we will do our due diligence to provide the necessary resources and feedback that will enable and expedite the candidates growth.

Curriculum Structure:

Bi-monthly career/professional development focus

Month 1-2: The Chick-fil-A Story

Discover how Truett Cathy turned the business into one of the greatest success stories of all time.

Month 3-4: Adulting 101, by Josh Burnett & Pete Hardesty

Walk through basic life skills, including how to find a job and be wildly successful, manage your time and goals, navigate relationships, and avoid the common mistakes of being out on your own.

Month 5-6: Financial Peace University with Dave Ramsey

Learn how to save for emergencies, pay off debt fast, spend wisely, and invest for your future..

Month 7-8: Self-Awareness: Temperaments Study, by Kathleen Edelman

Learn a simple framework that will change every conflict and conversation you have—for good.

Month 9-10: Know What You’re FOR, by Jeff Henderson

In his book, Jeff makes it clear how to change the world with our products or our mission, by shifting our marketing and messaging to be people-centric.

Month 11-12: Resume, Interview, and Next Step Development

Prepare for next steps in life including putting together your resume and preparing for your next interview. This can also include preparing you for leadership in our restaurant!


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively coach team members to obtain desired outcomes
  • Ensure that restaurant operations are flowing smooth
  • Ability to hold others consistently accountable
  • Willingness to have crucial conversations
  • Ensure that products and guests’ experience are consistent with our brand, culture and standard of excellence
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with guests, fellow team members and leaders
  • Customer service; courteously greet guests, take orders, explain and suggest menu items
  • Be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Maintain a sanitary and safe restaurant by mopping, sweeping floors, removing the trash, cleaning equipment, and keeping the dining room and restrooms clean
  • Stock products and supplies
  • Prepare, assemble, and serve products to food stations and guests
  • Ensure restaurant complies with third party and Health Inspection Standards


REQUIREMENTS

  • All candidates will start as either a front counter or a kitchen team member and will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position at an accelerated pace
  • Must be available to work 30+ hours a week (daytime, year-round availability)
  • Complete our Leadership Fundamentals course
  • A positive attitude

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work and move with a sense of urgency
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Maintain a well-groomed, clean, and professional appearance
  • Pass our food handler safety course before working
  • Must be willing to commit to working for 1 year
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
  • Letter of Recommendation from a Professional Reference
