CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (CAO)

Reports to: Tribal Council

Location: North Fork, CA

Responsibilities: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for NFR’s day-to-day operations and administrative activities. The position oversees the administrative departments such as Human Resources and works closely with senior management to check on project implementation and status and address issues of underperformance. The CAO reports and functions are under the direction of the Tribal Council. The CAO provides policy guidance, advice, and assistance to the Tribal Council regarding strategic planning and problem-solving. This position assumes responsibility for implementing policy decisions made by the Tribal Council. Provides technical and administrative direction in meetings and maintains service standards to Tribal Citizens.

Salary Information: G11-G13 2021 RUS ($64,649 - $119,787) D.O.E.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education - Minimum bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Planning, Management, or related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
  • Experience - Minimum six (6) years of public management experience in a variety of tribal and/or municipal government administrative areas.
  • License/Certification(s) - Valid CA Driver’s License with the ability to be insurable under NFR’s automobile insurance. If employee has a valid license from another state, they must obtain a CA license within 2 months of the date of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
