Job description
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of a Chief Management Operations. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Public Safety and Justice Cluster (PSJC). The incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the full range of administrative management activities and serving as an advisor to management.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the formulation, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of policies and procedures for all administrative and operational functions.
- Interpreting the agency's budget, financial, administrative, and management policies and requirements as it relates to business operations.
- Developing and drafting responses to change policies and requirements that affect the agency's programs.
- Identifying operational breakdowns and developing/implementing corrective actions to resolve problems.
- Planning, executing and coordinating all staff functions and activities; developing the yearly budget and managing resources within budget guidelines.
- Directing and conducting complex research on employee/organizational efficiency, productivity, and other administrative and programmatic aspects to improve operations.
- Spearheading special projects and serving as an integral team member as directed by Associate CFO.
- Driving and coordinating Continuous Improvement Projects for the Cluster; preparing performance standards and evaluations for staff.
- Participating in the interview process and making recommendations for selection and promotion of staff; providing on-the-job training and initiating action for external training as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: At least (6) six years of progressive experience overseeing and analyzing the financial and administrative operations of a department; establishing and determining departmental goals and objectives; evaluating the effectiveness of program operations; and ensuring the adherence to policies and procedures.
