Position: Child and Family Therapist (DHS and Relief Nursery family focus)
FTE: .6 – 1.0 (24 – 40/hours per week)
Other: Eligible for Hiring and Retention bonuses

Position Summary: The Child and Family Therapist performs Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessments (CANS) and Mental Health Assessments (MHA) for children referred by DHS in Benton County. The Therapist also provides mental health services to children ages 0 to 18 years old and their families with a caseload of 5-8 children dedicated to children in DHS care. Relief Nursery referred clients may also be served on this caseload as FTE allows. Responsibilities include conducting mental health assessments and providing individual, family and potentially group therapy, as well as case management, care coordination, skills training, psychoeducation, referrals, and community consultation in home, school, community, and office settings. The Therapist also develops and maintains timely clinical documentation, including but not limited to: assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and transfer and termination summaries.
Job Duties Include: Provide evidence-based and best practice therapeutic interventions. Coordinate and conduct CANS and MHAs for children in DHS care. Maintain thorough and timely clinical and administrative documentation.
Engage regularly in individual and/or group supervision. Abide by professional work ethics and standards.
Know and comply with OARS, ISSR’s, and all contractual and regulatory clinical requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Masters’ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related field, which in combination with experience, qualifies the candidate to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional as defined in Oregon Administrative Rules.
Experience and Abilities: Two years of experience working with children and families in a clinical or related setting, clinical internship and volunteer work is applicable and can be combined to meet the experience expectations. Experience with 3-7-year-old children required. Strong computer skills and the ability to document services in an Electronic Health Record required. Able to pass required background checks.
Licensure: Must be eligible for registration as an intern (Associate) with the respective board within 3 months of hire, working towards licensure for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor LPC) and/or a Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT) or be licensed as a LCSW, LPC or LMFT already.
Responsible to Whom: The Child and Family Therapist is responsible to the Relief Nursery Program Manager.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
