Job description
The City of Lake Forest is looking for a Childcare Attendant to supervise children ages 6 months to 8 years old in the childcare room while parents exercise at the Lake Forest Fitness Center. As a Childcare Attendant, you'll implement a variety of activities to provide a safe and fun experience for all children
- Create a safe, nurturing, and positive place where children can play
- Monitor care and safety of each child as well as the drop?off and pick-up process for each parent
- Actively engage with children while encouraging free play
- Ensure good hygiene of children and immediately contact parent or guardian at facility for feeding, cleanliness, illness or other childcare needs or concerns beyond scope of child oversight responsibilities
- Keep the childcare room neat and clean
- Have a desire to work with and around children
- Ability to work 8am – 12pm, Monday - Friday
- Understanding of a sound recreation philosophy
- Function in a team environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience with children preferred
- Must be CPR certified or have an ability to obtain certification at hire through our CPR certification course offerings
