The Claim Support Associate position is responsible for assisting with secretarial responsibilities for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Claim department. Responsibilities include typing letters, completing required forms, adding and updating providers W9 tax info in our systems, processing time-sensitive tasks promptly, corresponding with 3rd party vendors, making financial updates in our systems and transcribing recorded statements.
What You'll Do
- Transcribes dictation for Claim Representatives and Claim Adjusters. This includes typing letters, completing forms, and proofreading documents to correct grammar and punctuation prior to mailing
- Corresponds with 3rd party vendors to resolve towing and emergency roadside service
- Enters check recoveries, which includes determining the correct section that the recovery needs to be applied to and performing necessary calculations
- Enters data into claim software such as W9’s and payments into claim software
- Sends certified and overnight mail
- Issues payments for items such as legal bills, temporary total disability, medical bills, and police reports
- Proofreads weekly underwriting reports
- Orders certified and duplicate policies from the underwriting departments
- Answers P&C Claim staff phone calls, assists the caller, or directs them to the appropriate personnel
- Trains new and existing P&C Claim staff on Claim Associate job duties
- Completes standard office work functions such as photocopying, faxing, indexing mail, email, burning cd’s, archiving, and transcribing recorded statements
- Verifies policy and coverage information on 1st party rental and tow claims
- Opens claims to enter agent issued drafts
- Completes the daily Check Reconciliation (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) list
- Completes title applications and applies for salvage titles
- Learns and applies appropriate claim software searches to index mail, faxes, cd’s and emails
- Pulls claim history upon request
- Burns CD’s with claim file material for Subrogation, Physical Damage, and Workers Compensation claims
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
Required
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience
Preferred or Specialized
- Experience training others preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word
- office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic
Basic ability to:
