Position: Classroom AideHours/weekly: Monday-Friday, 30 hours weeklySupervised by: Program Site CoordinatorLocation: Cottage Grove, Creswell, Drain Wage: $14-$16 (wage differential if bilingual)

Family Relief Nursery is a 501c3 nonprofit operating in South Lane and North Douglas Counties. Family Relief Nursery seeks to keep children safe through support and early intervention strengthening families so all children thrive. Services include a therapeutic classrooms emphasizing social-emotional development for children, home visits, parenting classes and other services.

Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with children and families Provide therapeutic care for children 6 weeks to 5 yrs Provide developmentally appropriate activities Make summary notes on children's interactions when applicable Serve USDA meals following guidelines and record keeping Participate in staffing around family/children issues as appropriate Work as team to provide best possible care for children and families Scheduled bus riding and driving (no CDL required) in various weather conditions Support other nursery activities as appropriate- at times outside of regular hours

Minimum Requirements Preference given to bilingual Spanish speakers High School Diploma or GED equivalent Degree in Early Childhood Education, psych or related field or equivalent experience, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and guidance principles

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Within 60 days of employment must be Pediatric CPR and First aid Certified, have a current food handlers’ card, and show proof of completing “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect,” “Child Care Health & Safety,” “Safe Sleep,” and “Prevention is Better than Treatment” courses as required by Oregon Office of Child Care

Work tactfully with a diverse population which may include special needs Maintain a professional demeanor with clients, staff, and public at all times Ability to be dependable and flexible Sufficient maturity and good judgment to function in crisis situations Evidence of emotional maturity and stability Ability to relate sensitively and non-judgmentally with at risk children and families Physical stamina. Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 lbs. Strong interpersonal communication skills

Salary Range and Benefits This is a 30 hour position with a salary range of $14-$17 plus a generous benefit
