Primary Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services, holds 24-hour authority, responsibility and accountability for the clinical management of assigned resident/patient care unit.
- Monitors compliance with established budgetary and reimbursement guidelines.
- Participates in regularly scheduled nursing department meetings.
- Makes resident/patient rounds with a report to the Dir. of Subacute Services and Dir. of Nursing.
- Directs, evaluates and supervises all resident/patient care and initiates corrective action as necessary.
- Conducts quality assurance and continues quality improvement monitoring.
- Assesses resident equipment maintenance and supply needs and makes recommendations to the Dir. of Subacute Services and/or Dir. of Nursing.
- May conduct staff meetings; coordinate services rendered by nursing personnel with those rendered by personnel of other departments.
- Observes infection control policies and procedures relating to nursing services.
- Directs and supervises activities of professional and nonāprofessional nursing personnel; evaluates staff performance.
- supports and participates in In-services Education Programs.
- monitors infection control practices of nursing personnel.
- May be required to coordinate and conduct neurology rounds, contracture rounds, patient care rounds and skin rounds.
- Ensures that physicians are notified of changes in residents' conditions, weight, medication errors, medication not available, abnormal lab/xray results, new admissions/discharges and any other unusual observations.
Prerequisites:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of three (3) years recent clinical experience preferably in Medical-Surgical, Gerontological or Rehabilitative Nursing.
- Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing preferred, State and Federal Regulations, Medicare, Medicaid and MDS.
- Prior MDS Management experience preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards.
- Knowledge of growth and development across the life span required.

Pay: $40.39 - $47.39 per hour
