Clinical Pharmacist
RxBenefits is hiring! We are adding a Clinical Pharmacist to our growing team in Birmingham, AL. As part of our Clinical Services team, the Clinical Pharmacist will serve as a strategic consulting partner to our Operations, Business Development, Account Management, Marketing & Product departments providing a level of clinical independence to support client growth and retention.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Establishes collaborative, professional relationships within the Clinical Services team to support team development of consultant pharmacists
- Establishes productive, professional relationships with the RxBenefits team to support their prospect and client base with clinical expertise
- Support Operations in the implementation of new clients to provide consultation of available clinical services
- Support Business Development in the evaluation of a prospective clients claim file identifying clinical gaps, opportunities, and projected savings
- Support Account Management in the evaluation of an existing clients’ clinical initiatives, opportunities, disruption, and potential savings
- Support Clinical Operations and Account Management in the evaluation of high cost claimants for clinical gaps, opportunities to enhance care plans, and savings
- Support Business Development/Account Management with Employee Benefit Consultant (EBC) group meetings as an independent clinical expert
- Ability to deliver Operations/Business Development/Account Management results directly to the client
- Support Marketing in the evaluation and development of clinical case studies, industry white papers, and consultant education to support the RxBenefits value proposition
- Support Product in the evaluation of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) clinical programs and their impact on clients as well as in the development and maintenance of internal clinical initiatives
Key Success Measures:
- Number of prospects/clients where clinical impacted the sales or renewal
- Clients awareness of our clinical expertise through active outreach and meetings
- Clinical market updates delivered directly to our clients
Required Skills / Experience Include:
- Four- or Six-year college degree from an accredited institution–RPh or PharmD
- Valid state pharmacy license required
- 3+ years of clinical advising in the PBM marketplace; specialty medication advising experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Strong organizational skills are desired
- Strong and concise writing and verbal skills are HIGHLY desired
- Ability to review typical pharmacy data fields (e.g., Drug, Quantity, Days Supply, etc) and identify patterns is desired
- Ability to work within a diverse, decentralized & collaborative group and with a measure of self-driven autonomy
- Ability to multi-task and pivot based on team directed priorities
- Desire to learn and develop skills in the non-traditional pharmacist role of managed care consulting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficient with long-distance communication methods (Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex) is desired
- Residency not required but strongly encouraged
