Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist position conducts prospective and retrospective drug utilization reviews to identify drug related problems such as duplication of therapy, drug-drug interactions, and under and over utilization, using standards approved by the States Drug Utilization Review Board (DURB). The goal is to ensure efficient medication use by the States beneficiaries.
Your role in our mission
- Performs prospective and retrospective drug utilization review for State beneficiaries.
- Issues prior authorization according to established protocols.
- Handles inbound call volume from pharmacy providers and prescribers and documents all calls accurately.
- Interacts with prescribers when necessary to resolve clinical drug related problems (DRPs).
- Interacts with appropriate team leads to refer unresolved DRPs.
- Reviews incoming medical necessity forms (MNFs) and utilizes clinical knowledge to ensure therapy is deemed appropriate
- Provide follow up for any pending letters that require additional details /information needed from providers or prescribers
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD
- Required 2 years’ Pharmacist experience from New Jersey
- Active licensed NJ Pharmacist for past 2 years
- Work Monday-Friday standard business hours
- Able to work on call during off hours on a rotational schedule

The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
