Position: Clinical Skills Training Program Instructor

Employment Type: Contract Work

Reports To: Director of Operations

Conducts: Biannual Clinical Skills Training

Professional development is valued and supported at Comfort Keepers of Santa Fe. Caregivers are actively involved in their own continuing education outside of the agency and complete assigned non-medical Caregiver courses as well as attending bi-annual in-service training at our facility. In-service training events within the agency provide opportunities for stimulating and fruitful discussions among our Caregiver Staff, Admin Staff and the Instructor.

Nature of Position: Comfort Keepers of Santa Fe seeks an experienced clinical skills instructor to partner and collaborate with the Director of Operations and Admin Staff to:

  • Clinically supervise and train our Caregiver staff at our biannual in-service training program
  • Assist Client Care Coordinator in overseeing all clinical supervision of trainees/ new hires
  • Engage in the performance review and professional development of the Caregiver staff involved in the biannual in-service training program

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop new or add amendments to our current Clinical Skills Orientation Program
  • Maintain clinical skills training standards
  • Coordinate with Client Care Coordinator in scheduling biannual training and new hire orientation as needed
  • Serve on agency special projects, initiatives, and planning endeavors

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • A current New Mexico LPN or RN license
  • A minimum of 2 years of patient assessment and treatment experience with adults (geriatric experience preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, visually, in writing and via computer

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
  • Well versed in Medical Equipment (Hoyer-lift)
  • Body mechanics and mobility
  • Vital Signs
  • Nutrition
  • Caring for clients with Dementia
  • Hospice and End-of-Life CARE

Salary/Contract: $24.00/hr - $30.00/hr
