Learning Resource Program
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide clinical counseling to students; as well as group, parent and family counseling; serve as member of an assessment team and recruiting team.
REPORTS TO: Associate Director
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Provide therapeutic and supportive counseling to students.
- Provide life/organizational coaching as needed.
- Conduct individual, group and family therapy.
- Assess social and emotional issues.
- Conduct student-counseling groups as assigned.
- Conduct parent groups as assigned.
- Provide family intervention as needed.
- Prepare assessment and prescriptive reports.
- Consult with educators, Director and clinical supervisor on student issues.
- Attend meetings with parents.
- Provide information for prospective students and parents.
- Interview candidates.
- Attend recruiting events.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Excellent clinical social work skills.
- Knowledge of adolescent and young adult issues.
- Knowledge of learning disabilities and AD/HD.
- Knowledge of students with executive functioning delays.
- Ability to relate to and engage young adults and their families.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills for using Administrative System, Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs/Mail.
- Strong ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
- Strong ability to prioritize workload according to urgency, volume, etc.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master of Social Work (LCSW required) or Licensed Masters Level Mental Health Practitioner is required.
- Minimum of one to three years of job-related experience is required.
- Experience with learning disabilities, adolescents/young adults is preferred.
