Job Summary:

The Senior Advisor, Coffee Practice will lead analytical initiatives and strategy studies aligned with the practice’s vision of supporting three million smallholder farming families achieve sustainable living incomes by 2030. The position will have three roles. First, influence policymakers by overseeing the creation of coffee industry benchmarks and industry strategic plans for 13 priority coffee producing countries. Secondly, produce knowledge management documents for coffee industry leaders and the development community by sharing learnings from TechnoServe coffee programs. Thirdly, lead analyses for leading multinational partners to embed shared value in their sustainability initiatives.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

• Structure, design, and conduct primary and secondary research, including review and analysis of relevant existing reports and data
• Conduct interviews with TechnoServe colleagues and senior stakeholders (e.g., government, multilateral donors, corporate partners, implementation partners, NGOs external industry experts)
• Develop and structure analytical models and conduct quantitative analyses
• Synthesize findings and deliver regular progress reviews
• Author final deliverables (e.g., presentations, reports)
• Deliver findings to practice leadership team, corporate partners and external stakeholders
• Conduct workshops and meetings with colleagues, corporate partners and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years experience, or Master’s Degree with 3 years experience
• Strong command of MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional experience at a top tier management consulting firm
• Work experience in a developing country
• Coffee sector experience

Required Languages: English Fluency required (with a preference for French or Spanish)

Travel: Willingness to travel to countries in Africa and/or Latin America

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven analytical skills

Supervisory Responsibilities – Manage and mentor junior team members and TechnoServe Fellows in studies
