INTERIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATE POSITION

Seeking a designer with five years experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Design Associate to gain NYC experience.

NuZine is a commercial Interior Design and Project Management Firm specializing in 50,000 square feet and less in the 5 boroughs. We provide full design and management services for landlords and end users for multiple industries including educational, hospitality, fashion, corporate, retail and capital improvements. Some of our clients include Fordham University, Related Management, Structure Tone and Balloon Kings.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Photoshop. Sketch Up and/or Revit a plus.
  • Space Planning
  • Site surveying
  • MS Office, Project, Excel.
  • Strong written, oral and organizational skills.
  • Some knowledge of commercial codes, regulations, and NYC DOB process
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule workflow in a deadline driven environment.
  • Enthusiastic, personable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Resourceful problem solver who thrives on wearing several ‘hats’ in a business.
  • Self-starter who does not need to be micromanaged.
  • Strong sense of design and aesthetics.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, organize efficiently, and manage time effectively.
  • Able to take direction
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Conduct project site visits to measure & document existing conditions
  • Take field notes and measurements to generate floor plans in Auto CAD.
  • Assist with space planning and design concepts.
  • Generate drawings for the schematic and design development stages including, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, communication and finish plans, schedules, details and notes.
  • Generate Client presentations.
  • Source finishes, furnishings and equipment.
  • Attend design meetings with Clients and take meeting minutes, when required.
  • Attend weekly construction meetings to observe and document project progression.
  • Assist with project administration tasks, populate vendor bid spreadsheets, hold vendor meetings, obtain quotes and purchase orders, populate project schedule and update teams.
  • Source materials and maintain digital and hard copy libraries.

Job Type: Part Time & Full Time positions available.
