Job description
Purpose: The primary purpose of Communications Associate is to be responsible for carrying out specific objectives, procedures and programs in support of Advancement efforts on behalf of the school.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Communications team to help manage the communications needs including in-house and outsourced creative projects.
- Write and proofread various communication and marketing materials.
- Help produce and curate content for e-newsletters, internal and external websites, social media, presentations, signage, print publications, giving appeals, and event collateral
- Collaborate with members of internal community for integrated communications, proactively managing project deadlines
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer and Multi Media Communications Director including special projects as they arise
- Assists in coordinating and producing special events, including but not limited to: communicating with facilities and key school personnel on event needs, vendor communication prior to and during events, marketing and invitations for events, social media coverage, run of show event execution, reviewing vendor invoices and contracts.
- Morning/Afternoon Traffic Duty
Qualifications:
Requires a BA/BS degree.
Previous Project Management and/or Advancement experience or related field preferred Demonstrated excellence in writing, grammar, proofreading
Highly proficient with Apple systems, Google Apps, and Microsoft Office
Experience in web content management systems and other digital production tools such as Tumblr, Wix, WordPress, Flickr, MailChimp, etc.
Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative
Able to manage projects with minimal supervision, to work quickly and to focus in a fast-paced environment
Must have excellent teamwork skills.
Requires the ability to work well with 9-12 students and with adult colleagues.
Must be a role model in embracing and living out the Schools’ mission, goals and criteria; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the community.
Experience with independent schools preferred.

- Regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling
- Regularly climbing stairs**
- Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours
- Requires the ability to tolerate and work in a loud and active environment
- Requires physical presence, work to be performed on campus**
- Ability to travel 1-2 times per year.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends.**
