Founded in 1969, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing (National Council) is a membership organization that drives policy and social change on behalf of nearly 3,200 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults and families they serve. Position Summary
The Marketing and Communications department is central to the National Council’s goal of amplifying the work of the Practice Improvement and Consulting Department (PIC), which provides timely and meaningful technical assistance and consulting to community mental health and substance use services organizations and others serving the health of our nation. Under the direction of the Communications Director, the Communications Project Manager is primarily a project management role, responsible for a portfolio of projects and grants where they will strategize, implement and deliver on communications goals for key mental health and substance use disorder-related initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Creation and execution of comprehensive communications plans and multimedia strategies (e.g. video, social media, web, print, webinars, advertising, events, etc.).
- Creation, implementation and monitoring of communications work plans, progress reports, and data collection/analytic reports for projects of varying sizes and degrees of complexity, communicating areas of risk and opportunity where appropriate.
- Oversee and facilitate in-house and external marketing and communication specialists integral to the development and completion of communications materials and marketing projects and collaborate with both public/governmental and private external funders.
- Oversee and manage the creation of webpages, social media campaigns, digital advertising campaigns, educational courses, online webinars and trainings, reports and guides.
- Written content creation as needed.
- Administrative duties such as lead vendor contracting, budget tracking, project managing tasks within Asana, scheduling project and team related meetings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-6 years of project management experience, or Master's degree with 2-4 years of experience.
- Experience crafting and executing on communication plans and work plans.
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take initiative, work both independently and within groups, and delegate as needed.
- Proficiency in public speaking with experience organizing and leading groups.
- Ability to craft engaging promotional copy.
- Proven abilities in data collection and reporting.
- Big picture thinking with attention to detail.
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.
- Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in public health, mental health and substance use services or related fields is desirable
- Experience with Asana (or other project management program), Microsoft Dynamics (or other CRM)
