TheKey (and parent company of Aging Advisors) is seeking a Life Enhancement Specialist.

Position Summary

The Life Enhancement Specialists are professionals who provide services to older and disabled. We strive to provide activities and outings to our clients, focusing on their independence, inherent dignity, and self-worth. If you have a desire to make an impact in an older adult’s life, are organized, dependable, and passionate about helping others then Life Enrichment Specialist is the job for you.

Life Enhancement Specialists do not provide personal care. They provide life enriching opportunities for older adults. Time spent with the client could be in their home or out in the community. You might visit a client in their home, in an assisted living and/or memory care unit or an adult care home. Each program is personalized to the individual client based on values, preferences, interests, and abilities. Life enrichment activities tap into and encourage personal connection, enjoyment, and a sense of belonging. These activities can include assisting with cooking meals or housekeeping tasks, going out for meals, shopping, walks, and scenic rides. Cognitive stimulating tasks such as reminiscing over photos, life history, storytelling, puzzles, museums, music and art activities. Our specialists will work in a team environment supported by care managers, supervisors, monthly staff meetings, and ongoing support and training. Specialists will have the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and be creative in their client care planning.

Minimum qualifications

• Basic understanding of dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
• Experience working with older adults in our community ex: activity coordinators, caregivers and/or personal trainers or companions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be proficient in email and basic computer skills.
• Reliable vehicle that is clean and suitable for transporting clients.

Preferred

• Sociology, recreation, or healthcare related degree preferred.
