POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for interpreting regulations and laws affecting Alliance Bank and furnishing information, along with training as needed for any required changes. Also, this position takes all actions necessary to ensure that the Bank’s policies and procedures are in compliance with regulations and federal and state laws. This employee offers the customer the highest degree of service and promotes Alliance Bank’s products and services.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to read, write and speak the English language, bilingual helpful.

2. Ability to respond to customer requests with tact, diplomacy, and a sense of urgency.

3. High School diploma (or equivalency) and knowledge of specialized principles that would normally be obtained through a four-year academic program in related field such as finance and/or accounting, and a minimum of (5) years banking experience or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

4. Knowledge of audit standards, objectives, and procedures.

5. Knowledge of federal and state regulations and Alliance Bank policies and procedures.

6. Knowledge of Alliance Bank’s products and services.

7. Schedules are prepared based on business need and subject to change at any time. This may include the need for evenings, weekends, or holiday coverage.

8. Ability and willingness to read and interpret banking laws and regulations.

9. Ability to operate basic office equipment i.e., typewriter, calculator, and PC; with job related software.

10. Previous experience in supervisory management a plus.

11. Ability to handle bank and customer transactions with a high level of confidentiality.

12. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.

13. Office setting with moderately varied desk-oriented activity.

14. Repetitive movement of finger, wrist, and hand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Personify Alliance Bank’s mission statement of The best in all we do.

2. Actively sell and cross-sell bank services.

3. Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly service to all Bank employees.

4. Develop the Consumer Compliance Statement of Policy, Internal Compliance Monitoring Procedures and Compliance Training Guidelines.

5. Read and interpret compliance regulations to ensure Bank compliance.

6. Provide responses and maintain the Continuity Compliance Software.

7. Assure Bank employee’s compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules, and regulations.

8. Effectively and proactively communicate with all Bank employees on changing laws, regulations, or policies.

9. Provide guidance, advice, and/or training and educational programs, to improve business’ understanding of related laws and regulatory requirements to Bank employees.

10. Respond to Bank employee’s emails or phone calls providing guidance, advice, an opinion, and recommendations to regulatory and non-regulatory items to elevate the level of service from the Compliance Department.

11. Act as the lead for external compliance audits, reviews, and exams, by organizing reviews/audits/exams, uploading requested items, responding to findings, and communicating with external auditors and examiners in a professional manner.

12. Perform Compliance Audits as needed to ensure the Bank is not at risk of repeated violations.

13. Review Bank advertising and social media for compliance.

14. Review denied loan applications for compliance.

15. Track, maintain, and report employee compliance training.

16. Review and update Bank compliance policies and procedures.

17. Maintain internal controls and procedures for the Compliance Department.

18. Perform the annual compliance risk assessment.

19. Assess potential products and programs for regulatory compliance and compliance risk.

20. Report semi-annually to the Board any consumer complaints the bank has received.

21. Perform any Board compliance training as required by regulation.

22. Supervise and train Compliance Department Staff including CRA Officer.

23. Compliance Officer Certification must be maintained.

24. Attend meetings as requested.

25. Employee may be issued bank owned devices (such as cell phones, tablets, and/or laptops). In such cases, employee is expected to regularly check and respond to phone calls, text messages, and/or emails.

26. Participate in community affairs to increase Alliance Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.

27. Keep updated on all Alliance Bank policies and procedures pertaining to this position.

28. Attendance and punctuality are a must.
