Position Summary: Under the general direction of the General Foreman, the Concrete Finisher performs tasks involving physical labor for concrete and masonry construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces and concrete forms, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. May assist fellow craft workers in completing tasks.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for concrete.
- Shovel concrete into construction area.
- Fine grade fill to grades given by foreman.
- Assist in set forms and wall panel forms.
- Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Material handling and storage.
- Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman or Safety Advisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
Experience:
- 1-year Concrete finisher and/or Carpentry on the job experience required.
- 6 months of experience in construction or oil field work is desirable.
- Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
Skills:
- Must have excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of supervisors and employees. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge/Abilities:
- Knowledge of occupational safety and workplace hazard identification.
- Understand employee handbook.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
- Hydro-tester, Bolt-up and Cribbing knowledge
- Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Other Requirements:
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
- Completion of substance abuse screening upon offer of employment.

- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as; hot and cold temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noise in which all are common oil and gas field exposures.
- Work environment involves maximum exposure to physical risk, such as moving and operating equipment including working with chemicals and oils indicative with the Company’s industry.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and fingers to touch, handle, and feel; and speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and occasionally required to stop, kneel, bend, squat, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift 12 to 20 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move 21 to 50 lbs.
- Some overtime and weekends will be required.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
