Job description

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring Concrete Finishers for the Breaux Bridge, La. area. This is for a long term commercial project. We need hard-working Concrete Finishers that want to work for project that will go well into the end of next year.

Pay is $22/hour.

No per diem is offered.

Job Duties:

• Review project plans and location of the concrete pour
• Provide support to Concrete Foreman with project layout and elevation shooting
• Gather and inspect equipment to ensure they are functioning properly
• Install rebar or concrete forms as needed
• Responsible for operating electrical, air-powered, and regular hand tools during projects
• Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed
• Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
• Use power trowels and vibrating screeds to smooth freshly poured concrete
• Spread, rake, smooth and finish concrete
• Check the finished product to make sure it meets specifications
• Responsible for carrying out general construction labor tasks
• Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.

Job Requirements:

• Have good physical stamina and endurance to work in all weather conditions, and the strength to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have at least 1 - 2 years of Concrete Finisher experience.
• Will need to have basic hand concrete finishing tools, ALL PPE and reliable transportation to get to job site.
• Be proficient with industry tools, such as a power trowel, and have experience with rebar and steel plates.
• Ability to interpret blue prints & drawings
• Must have organizational skills and be detail-oriented
• Will need to communicate effectively with co-workers and Project Superintedent.
