Role Overview
The Loan Processor will work directly with the Loan Officers, Branches, Contact Center, third party partners, and the Borrower to complete the loan process. General duties involve collecting and confirming employment and financial data. Processor will ensure all information on necessary forms are completed and follow all compliance guidelines before the file is moved to the next stage of the process. In addition, the Loan Processor will assist in the processing of loan department activity by performing the following duties and clerical functions:
Day-to-Day
- Occasionally interviews applicant to obtain personal and financial data and fills out application for loans and credit cards.
- Contacts; by telephone, direct computer access, or letter; credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references.
- Prepare loan documents, process Indirect Loan packets, validate loan documents are properly prepared and executed by the borrower and third party partners such as dealerships and solar company. Communicate with third party partners to correct document errors when applicable.
- Follow up on requests with a focus on aging loans from branches and dealers to retrieve copies of missing documentation.
- May prepare wires and fund consumer loans.
- Responsible for calculating income on varies loans.
- Assists in the preparation of credit information necessary to establish credit limit, including such factors as applicant's assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards.
- Notifies applicants by mail, telephone, or in person of acceptance or rejection of application.
- Provides assistance in filing, inputting data to computer, recording information as required, answering telephones, photocopy, faxing, and general office routine.
- Assists departmental staff in efficiently and effectively processing the various activities involved in credit granting.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires a strong attention to detail. It consists of data entry along with quality control validation of loan documents.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees and members of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Must have ability to multi-task and be organized to ensure proper follow up occurs on all outstanding requests for corrections.
- Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
This is a full-time role working with hours of 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday rotation.
