Position Summary

The Content Designer / UX Writer position is onsite at our corporate office in fabulous Las Vegas, NV. This role plays a key role in the development and management of Credit One’s cardmember experiences across web and native mobile apps. They set the tone for content and drive cohesive product narratives or instructive user guidance across multiple digital platforms and touchpoints. As one of our resident wordsmiths, the UX Writer works collaboratively across teams and departments to help establish and maintain clear, connective language through a unified voice. They advocate for both cardmembers and internal UX stakeholders to shape product experiences by crafting copy that helps users complete the key task at hand (with the least possible friction).
The UX Writer also works to identify opportunities to continuously improve user journeys, product adoption, feature utilization, product/program performance, and overall customer satisfaction.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Use writing and editing skills to write clear, concise user-interface text that facilitates user navigation, onboarding, promos, error messages, instructional materials, and other components of the end-to-end user experience.
  • Apply relevant accessibility standards and best practices when creating written content or UI text.
  • Use empathy, logic, and hard data to inform content choices, and become an expert in the products you support.
  • Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of web and app user flows, decision logic, and UI messaging across all user journeys to expertly craft or edit content for each product experience.
  • Understand how to balance business requirements and customer needs in building features.
  • Guide UX content standards and be a champion for best practices; lead and/or support content audits to identify opportunities and drive consistency across the product, implementing style guides and shared nomenclature where applicable.
  • Collaborate with, influence, and drive consensus with stakeholders and their feedback, knowing how and when to defend content editing decisions and adapting accordingly.
  • Write content for both internal or external communications to market our mobile app in the app store and educate employees on new features with the ability to write for the appropriate audience. For example, from release notes, or executive summaries, to app store overviews.
  • Assist in identifying and developing UX patterns/processes which may be re-used for future initiatives.
  • Support UX team in the development of user flow charts, journey maps, competitive benchmarking studies or similar UX artifacts as needed.
  • Continually research and educate the team about UX content development best practices or relevant trends.
  • Be a team player; take initiative and ownership of responsibilities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in creating content for financial services, fintech or digital tech products.
  • UX writing portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in creating and editing content for: user interface copy, microcopy, user education materials (instructional messaging or tutorials), transactional emails, and style guides.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of user interface design processes, best practices, and usability principles.
  • Be an excellent communicator (verbal and written) with presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; requires the ability to communicate concepts clearly and persuasively across varying levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with project management and design software (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Figma).
  • Ability to work full-time onsite.

  • Localization and accessibility best practices
  • Design thinking methods and workshop facilitation.
  • Information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites.
