Job description

As the Defense Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and supporting activities associated with contracting and proposals for major defense programs, pursuing product development, and production of defense products used in defense vehicles. You will also support activities from opportunity identification, contract award, execution, and program closeout. In this role, you will be developing contracting plans and supporting proposal plans, support the proposal creation process through contract execution and closeout. A subset of essential functions are below.

Essential Functions:

- Support Capture Team activities to address the proper contract and proposal elements

- Determine contractual and proposal assignments.

- Develop and maintain knowledge and compliance with Allison Transmission Inc. (ATI) policies, ATI procedures, departmental procedures, ITAR/EAR, FAR/DFAR requirements and methods of conducting business with Government personnel.

- Subject matter expert in Government and International contracting

- Subject matter expert in Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus, Time and Material contracting.

- Familiar with Commercial Item determination and procurements.

- Participate in activities to assess new opportunities leading up to a bid or no bid decision.

- Develop/report on contract key business metrics/deliverables.

- Support the proposal creation process and deliver proposal elements on schedule.

- Travel domestically and internationally as required.

- Negotiate with applicable customer and other Prime Contractors

- Knowledge of Change Modification process

- Contract Close-out

- Manage Contract Invoicing and Receivables

- CDRL/SDRL tracking

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $113,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
