About the Club
Situated just above the shores of Lake Washington, Sand Point Country Club offers many gorgeous views of the lake and the Cascade Mountain range. In addition to the spectacular setting, Sand Point Country Club is the only private golf club in Seattle with all of the amenities of a country club. Offering a variety of activities for the whole family including a challenging 18-hole course design, a covered and heated driving range, junior Olympic-sized swimming pool and wading pool, four lighted outdoor tennis courts, a 24/7 Fitness Center with club-approved fitness trainers, casual and fine dining venues, a lounge, and beautiful event facilities. Gross revenues exceed $9 million with Food and Beverage accounting for $2.3 million. The staff reaches up to 225 team members at the height of the season.
About the Position
The next Controller of Sand Point Country Club will work as an integral member of the management team and supervise the accounting and financial operations of the Club. The Controller will report to the GM/COO and will have clear “ownership” of day-to-day financial operations of the Club, while working closely with the leadership team on the achievement and maintenance of the Club’s vision, values, and goals. In addition, the Ccontroller will provide financial leadership contributing to the goals of the Club’s business and financial objectives. In addition to leading all financial functions in the operation, the Controller will work with the GM/COO to lead the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. The next Controller will identify annual initiatives and budget objectives, presenting plans and recommendations to the Board for approval. These will be backed with clear, well-conceived tactics. The Controller will maintain all accounting records and is responsible for development, analysis, and interpretation of all financial and operating information. He/she will prepare monthly interim financial statements and quarterly reports to the COO and membership. In addition, the Controller will evaluate operating results in terms of costs, budgets, and policies of operation, trends, and increased profit potentials. The position is on-site and remote only candidates will not be considered. About the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have three years of professional of experience as a Controller in a similar size business with a preference for some in a similar, private, member-owned premier club, preferably in a gated residential community. He/she will have hospitality and/or Non-Profit experience and a verifiably unblemished career track that demonstrates a record of ethical and consistently professional behavior. The next Controller of Sand Point Country Club will be knowledgeable in “best accounting practices” in a top performing organization and have knowledge of computer literacy with experience in accounting/point of sales software systems, and specific knowledge of Club Essential software. The ideal candidate will have excellent financial skills, with the ability to quickly assimilate numbers and reports. He/she must be knowledgeable regarding typical club financial issues of funding, cash flow, project analysis and is aware of critical benchmarking and financial metrics. The next Controller of Sand Point Country Club will have exceptionally strong communication and facilitation skills, both written and verbal, with the appropriate personal presence, desire, and ability to interact effectively before diverse constituencies of members, staff, vendors, and other people who are part of the success of the Club. It is imperative that the candidate have experience in coordinating and overseeing the financial aspects of major club improvement projects, especially as these relate to construction and renovation projects.
CPA/CMA preferred
Bachelors in Accounting/Finance preferred
Compensation
- Pay starts at $130,000 per year, but can increase based on experience
- Club pays 80% of medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days
- Club pays 100% of your life insurance after 30 days

- Matching 401k after 6 months. Club matches 4% for the first 5yrs of service, 7% match after 5years of service

Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
