The Irwindale Brew Yard is part of the City Brewing network and will be the largest co-packing facility in the United States for low alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Irwindale Brew Yard has immediate openings for Controls Automation & Instrumentation Tech (Electrician/PLC) at our Irwindale, CA facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTOES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and modify, extensive PLC’s and HMI’s programs for the following:

Allen Bradley
Modicon
Omron
PLC5
SCL500
Control Logix
Motion Control

  • Troubleshoot or establish control networks

EtherNet / IP
DeviceNet
DH-485
Modbus

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot Process control systems
  • Perform all duties within GMP standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Responsible for departmental compliance with GMP, HACCP and FSMA guidelines

SKILLS

  • Software skills to include:
  • RS logix 500 and 5000
  • ProWorks32
  • Wonderware
  • FactoryTalk
  • Substantial electrical experience
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision

This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Controls Automation & Instrumentation Tech (Electrician/PLC). QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required, and must be 21 years old.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in industrial electronics and instrumentation.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, control power and drives, sanitary control principals, operation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lock out/tag out, confined space)
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and propose and implement remedies
  • Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office Excel proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, worker that is able to work autonomously in a fast paced an often loud food production environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience in high speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred

Note: This position is a union position and a member of the Electrician Union (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW)

Selected candidate must be willing to work any and all shifts, and weekends when necessary to cover the needs of the business.
