Job Summary:
The Converting Facilitator is responsible for overseeing the assigned 2nd shift converting process at our Pacific Southwest Container facilities in Modesto (Riverside and Leckron locations). This person will ensure Team Members assigned on the designated shift continue to safely produce a high-quality product in a compliant and efficient manner while upholding the core values of PSC.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all team members.
• Lead and develop hourly team members.
• Confirm all equipment is functioning properly and in a way PSC Team Members can safely and efficiently operate it.
• Plan and manage shift schedules to meet production goals, prioritize work orders, maintain quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Schedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of team members, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy.
• Conduct team member training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations, and waste control on an ongoing basis.
• Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products, and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions; assist in troubleshooting any machine slowdowns or other problems.
• Analyze machine performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish goals, and execute strategy.
• Inspect and ensure product being produced conforms to customer's specific requests and requirements when applicable.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods and enact other practices to further improve PSC's lean manufacturing principles.
• Follow through with coaching opportunities and other obligations you have committed to completing.
• Ability to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Coach and mentor in various ways to positively impact different styles of learners.
• Learn new practices/procedures PSC utilizes.
• Be a servant-minded style leader by serving our Team Members and providing them with all the tools and coaching they need to safely and efficiently perform their job.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3-5 years' supervisor experience in manufacturing industry required.
• Prior experience in the corrugated industry is a plus.
• Familiarity and experience working with Bobst Asitrades, Flat Bed Die Cutting, and Specialty Folder Gluers is a plus.
• Lead by example with a passion for Safety, Quality, and Operational Excellence
• Management skills, sound judgment, detail oriented, attentiveness, project management skills, ability to foster teamwork and personnel development, ability to guide teams.
• Ability to train crew on equipment use, adjustments and unique situations.
• Must demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills; willingness to mentor others.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management.
