Cook:

At HAMHWE we live our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of our region. The Cook will prepare, season and cook food for the hospital patients, Care Center Residents, Staff and Visitors.

Cook Responsibilities:

• Determine types and quantities of meats, vegetables and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus.
• Work with Clerk to determine amount of foods needed to meet weekly menus.
• Ensures meals are ready at specified times.
• Consult with Registered Dietician on modified diets, as necessary.
• Supervise Dietary Service Workers when they are washing, trimming or prepping food.
• Prepares recipes using mixers, blenders, grinders, slicer, etc.
• Make sauces, soups, stews, casseroles and desserts meeting established dietary guidelines.
• Maintains kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner.

Cook Requirements:

• Basic Computer knowledge.
• Ability to calculate measurements in recipes to increase or decrease servings.
• Previous experience in food preparation.

Cook Shift Time:

Flexible Scheduling - No late nights and every other weekend rotation
