Highland Community College is accepting applications for Coordinator of TRIO Upward Bound. This is a full-time, grant funded position. Responsibilities include recruiting program participants, meeting with students regarding academic progress and course selection, personal and academic goal setting, and test preparation and registration. Other duties include facilitating workshops for students, implementing all program projects, providing input into grant budget, reporting requirements, and supervising program staff. This position will meet with high school students and school personnel within Stephenson, Ogle and Carroll counties and will assist with program communication, including website maintenance, social media presence, and mailings. The position will develop curriculum, assessment and other program activities.

Bachelor’s degree in education or closely related field required, Master’s degree preferred. Experience working in an educational setting required, preferably high school. This position works with a diverse population of students and staff. Applicants who have succeeded in overcoming the barriers like those confronting the target population preferred (first generation, low income, academically disadvantaged). A valid driver’s license is required. This position requires a criminal background check.
