POSITION OVERVIEW
The Coordinator, Collab Site Ops is charged with maintaining the readiness of the Collab site and blog to host courses and events. The position is also tasked with troubleshooting issues when the site is not functioning as expected. To accomplish these tasks the Coordinator, Collab Site Ops will learn the Collab admin “backend” to serve as a resident expert in backend functioning to accomplish our course and event objectives.
Working closely under the Director, Digital, the Coordinator, Collab Site Ops upholds Sundance Institute’s commitment to supporting and championing independent artists. Sundance Institute believes stories and perspectives are essential to a thriving, informed, and connected society. Collab is our digital space for artists around the globe, providing a safe and nurturing space for artists to develop and share new work while building networks and community with one another.
This temporary position works a variable hourly schedule which will primarily be part-time (20 hours per workweek) with some weeks exceeding 20 hours to accommodate site testing prior to releases, course setup, and overall site maintenance. This may happen 5-10 times per year and the employee will be given at least a full week’s notice when these extended hours are expected. Some of this work will not happen during normal business hours. This temporary position is fully remote and has an employment end date of Friday, August 25, 2023.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…

  • Setting up courses, events and content in the Collab site and blog backends including tagging, SEO, and alerting the team of completion.
  • Coordinating and executing tasks related to courses, events, and special sections by working with department databases and project management tools, such as Airtable and Asana and liaising with Course Producers.
  • Gathering and tracking information about our course instructors, advisors, and members and related content in the Collab backend and updating as necessary.
  • Liaising with all Collab team members and site technology partners as needed to ensure all ongoing and new backend work is planned, documented and communicated and executed consistently and successfully.
  • Monitoring, identifying, and correcting site errors, changes, and platform consistency to ensure positive user experience.
  • Documenting information for the department and ensuring that the team receives updates as needed.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • 2 years of experience working in a fast moving environment and tracking multiple details.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technology platforms.
  • Strong communications skills to work effectively with a variety of people.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Airtable, Asana, and WordPress a plus
  • Proficiency in HTML a plus.

  • Ensure all content, courses, and events are available to the Collab audience in a pleasing, professional presentation.
  • Communicate effectively to obtain and advise on all materials to support course and event set-up, including images, bios, course and event descriptions, etc and ensure they are planned for and delivered on time.
  • Edit in the formats provided and accommodate alternative workflows for special projects.
  • Help evolve best practices and site standards along with platform functionality to contribute to stronger user engagement and delight.
  • Understand blog and website best practices including navigation, rendering, SEO best practices and overall site functionality.
