The Staff Accountant provides support for a growing energy company in a fast‐paced environment. This position is located in Dallas, Texas and provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth through developing and expanding experience and skills while working with all areas of the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Preparing routine journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations, revenue invoicing, fixed assets, and accounts payable.
  • Assisting in the creation of financial statements and variance analysis reports.
  • Assisting in the monthly consolidation process involving multi‐levels of parent and subsidiary entities.
  • Reviewing, approving, and coding invoices, wires, and intra‐bank transfers for assigned projects.
  • Coding intercompany invoices and tracking/reconciling monthly intercompany activity, as well as billing 20+ intercompany legal entities monthly.
  • Assisting in annual financial audit by providing support for items selected by external auditors.
  • Assisting in preparation of annual budgets.
  • Assisting in preparation of bi-weekly payroll entries.
  • Performing weekly cash monitoring to ensure cash balances are up to date and invoices are paid in a timely manner.
  • Identifying and assisting in the implementation of needed improvements in processes affecting the Corporate Accounting Team
  • Assisting in the processing of employee expense reporting and reimbursements through Concur software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting
  • Two+ years of related work experience and/or senior level courses at an accredited university
  • Technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting issues, consolidations, US and foreign GAAP issues, foreign currency translation, multiple corporate structures, equity and investment accounting.
  • Commitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for monthly and quarterly reporting, and special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow‐up.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with professional follow‐through and minimal supervision.
  • Enjoys working in a very “hands on” and detail‐oriented environment.
  • Self‐starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willing to ask questions and take ownership of projects.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus
