ONE Gas (OGS), a premier natural gas distribution company, is looking for a Corporate Development Analyst I to join our team in Austin, TX or Tulsa, OK. You will gain experience in financial modeling and target assessment, in-depth industry analysis, strategic evaluations, business cases and teamwork experiences.

We are looking for a Corporate Development Analyst who has an educational background in financial and analytics driven decision making. This Corporate Development Analyst will have a direct impact on the growth trajectory and Commercial strategy of the Company.

The primary purpose of this job is to make and influence decisions that lead to maximize revenue, develop customer retention strategy, and advance our business intelligence insights and efforts. Specifically, the Corporate Development Analyst I will assist in influencing business strategies with Commercial and Corporate development teammates and other employees outside of Corporate Development; performs objective analysis seeking the best economic outcome for ratepayers, and therefore the company; and ensures regulators are satisfied with the results and process.

What You Will Do

Compile, analyze, and prepare growth models, market penetration, and model energy affordability at an entry-level.

Assist with growth-oriented program strategy, end to end delivery, and turning the numbers into a cohesive story for leaders in Corporate Development.

Develop analytics and business insights leveraging SQL and statistics on customer growth efforts, retention efforts, marketing campaigns, and new program development.

Perform fundamental quantitative and financial analysis.

Model the impact of new initiatives on the business and analyze success post launch.

Balance reactive data analysis requests with proactive work based on company objectives.

Research and develop market insights on industry peers, macroeconomics, and energy markets to lead to better decision making

Utilize Power BI, SQL, and other data queries to develop analytical content including reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analysts and data sets.

Perform entry-level geospatial analysis to identify growth prospects.

Develop presentations and communication to various departments.

Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external peers.

Position Requirements:

What You Will Need

Prefer students who are projected to graduate in December 2022 with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, Data Science, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or Marketing but other applicable majors may be considered.

Prefer students with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Prefer experience with statistics, analytics, data visualization tools, SQL, Python, forecasting, financial modeling, and accounting principles. Prefer involvement in extracurricular and community support activities demonstrating leadership. Prior work experience (entrepreneurial activities, internships, summer or part-time work while attending school, etc.).
