Reel Assemblers/Assembly Team

Shift 1 Base Hours: 7am - 3pm
Shift 2 Base Hours: 3pm - 11pm

Carris Reels is seeking quality-minded, dependable individuals to join our talented team of Employee Owners at our Assembly Division. These key positions require working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, assembling wood reels for the wire and cable industry. Long periods of standing, attention to safe practices, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a team setting are also required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Potential Duties:

• Follow established methods and procedures necessary to build a wooden reel
• Stacks reels on pallets and keeps accurate counts.
• Operates a stretch wrapper for palletized reels.
• Set up, operate, and tend machines to cut paper tubes to specified lengths according to customer orders.
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and customer specifications with minimum supervision.
• Interpersonal and group communications skills are necessary
• Be familiar with, and use, measuring tools. Must be able to perform simple shop math
• Build wood reels using hand and pneumatic tools
• Must be able to read and interpret customer spec cards and maintain production flow
• Clean and maintain the work area
• Follow prescribed safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment
• Report defective materials, or questionable conditions, to the department supervisor
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to regularly lift and/move materials or finished product up to 50 pounds Required to stand, bend, lift arms, and reach.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.40 per hour
