JOB SUMMARY

Under direction of the Associate Chief of Behavioral Health Services provides and supervises services to individuals between the ages of 15 and 30 experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Duties involve developing and maintaining long-term contact with individuals, their families, and service providers for medical, social, educational, substance abuse and related service needs. The CSC-EO Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the CSC-EO Team as well as providing diagnostic assessments, counseling, rehabilitation, case management, and supportive services to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness in the CSC-EO program. Responsibilities include planning and linking to community resources and following up with referral sources to ensure identified needs are addressed; counseling provided directly to individuals, and provision of rehab skills training to facilitate community integration as needed. Must be able to make effective assessments and interventions in situations involving mental health services provided to individuals. This position will also be responsible for community outreach and education to generate additional referrals. Will complete required reports and participate in monthly conference calls. In-region travel is required and some out of region travel may occur on occasion for training purposes. Must be familiar with and/or willing to be trained in trauma-informed care. This includes understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma, and an ability to work in an environment where staff convey dignity, respect, and hopefulness, and the opportunity for choice and empowerment among consumers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the needs of persons with mental illness and their families. Experience working with and meeting fidelity of evidence-based programs. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with other staff, individuals served, and community agencies. Knowledge of agency and community resources and continuity of service options available to individuals. Capacity for flexibility in dealing with ongoing changes in the service delivery

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in human/social services field is required. Licensure as a LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, or LMSW under clinical supervision is required.* Full, independent clinical licensure is preferred.

Experience: Prefer at least two years’ experience in supervisory or program management for community mental health. Experience working with and meeting fidelity of evidence-based programs. Experience in a social, behavioral, or human services occupation is required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, walk over a variety of terrains, and reach overhead. A valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card.
