The starting rate for this position is $20.76 per hour.

The individual selected for this position will be responsible for the following daily duties and tasks:
Collects, posts, reconciles, and prepares deposit for daily revenue for electric, water, sewer, and refuse billings: Processes payments received over the counter, through night depository, and via mail; researches payments received with little or no account information; and balances posted payments with deposits.
Performs customer service functions: Reviews customer application for service; ensures accuracy of information and meeting of requirements; handles customer concerns, issues, and complaints in person or by phone, for electric, water, sewer, refuse, and other utility services; responds to difficult customer problems/concerns; performs front line troubleshooting for electric, water, and sewer problems such as partial power at residents, silent and underground water leaks, etc.; and provides information, such as inspection and deposit requirements for utility connections, power outage information, etc.
Researches account problems for resolution: Updates customer account status listings; records findings; forwards the information to supervisor for final approval.
Communicates with Customer Service Supervisor, Meter department staff, Water and Sewer department staff, Utility Operations Center staff, third party service contractors, other City departments, and the general public as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Performs related duties as required.
High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by two years of billing, clerical and/or customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
