Job description
Heifer Herd Manager will be overseeing and responsible for all the management for our 970 head of heifer replacements for our 1500 dairy cow herd. It is a position of hands-on daily management and coordination with other herdsmen. Skills required will be operation of skidloader and small tractors, PCDart software, heat detection, vaccine injections, sick animal diagnosis and treatments, rudimentary nutrition and feeding and labor supervision. Other skills that would be helpful are A.I. breeding and preg checking. Work schedule will be 10 days working out of 14 day schedule which includes working every other weekend. Benefits are health insurance for family, paid vacation, paid holidays and 401k retirement plan.
