Data Entry Clerk

GENERAL SUMMARY
ERC is seeking an individual who can assist with the coordination of an exciting project with a rapidly growing community-based organization with a focus on HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment, research, prevention education, training, risk reduction counseling, referral services, and support services.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Business Operations Manager, the Data Entry Clerk will perform a wide variety of clerical duties in support of clinical and programmatic services across multiple sites and departments. As an integral part of ERC’s multidisciplinary team, the intern will serve in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment in order to meet performance and quality assurance benchmarks. Duties will include, but are not limited to, facilitation of collecting and entering client health data, analysis of surveillance data, and preparation of periodic reports for distribution to the Business Operations Manager. The Data Entry Clerk must exercise flexibility when serving as a back-up support for front desk and reception staff, according to ERC’s needs and in the interest of efficiency in work flow and operations. Intern must maintain confidentiality and privacy of client information and ensure compliance with HIPAA laws, ERC policies and procedures, and Georgia regulatory requirements. Typical work activities include day-to-day clinical and non-clinical operations, planning long-term projects, maintaining records, conducting field studies and community outreach activities, program evaluation, examining public health data, and client interviewing. Other duties as assigned.

  • Possess a genuine empathy for clients and a willingness to help others.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the tact to deal effectively with clients, guests, program staff, and medical professionals.
  • Must have the ability to develop relationships with professional staff and clients.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation skills in the delivery of health education materials and instructions to clients.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in order to create reports, graphs, training and curriculum materials.
  • Must have excellent writing and verbal skills related to preparing reports, articles, and materials development.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity for reading and operating laboratory instruments and computer equipment.
  • Intern must be a great communicator, meticulous, and possess great interpersonal skills.
