Department Overview
Diablo Canyon Power Plant's Procurement Services Department is responsible for providing all goods and services for the Plant, while focusing on safety, customer service and cost management.

Position Summary

This is an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This job is subject to collective bargaining.

The materials handler will support the receipt, storage, and issuing of all materials for the Plant and is expected to follow all Plant procedures and standards.

To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP), you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. ​

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $33.28 to $50.67, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain an absolute commitment to safety and work safely at all times
  • Drive multiple types of vehicles to transport material, including flatbed and box trucks.
  • Receive, pick, stock and deliver material by hand or with use of equipment
  • Responsible for in-storage maintenance, material searches and return to stock
  • Perform duties using various Material Handling equipment including forklifts, stock pickers and other necessary equipment and tools
  • Use computer to complete administrative tasks
  • Stack and un-stack materials while working at various heights
  • Work in environments including inclement weather and emergency conditions
Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
  • Ability to work in all types of weather extremes
  • Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
  • Ability to work at varying level of heights
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime (scheduled or ad hoc)
  • Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds a minimum of one time a day
Desired:
  • Demonstrated experience using Enhanced Warehouse Management (EWM) software
  • Preference given to applicants who reside within 30 miles
  • Demonstrated experience using SAP
  • 2+ year work experience in warehouse or shipping environment
  • Class A driver’s license
  • Certified to operate a forklift
  • Previous/current PG&E experience
  • Previous/current Hiring Hall experience
  • Military experience
