We are seeking exceptional people for a Deck Operator position at our sawmill located just outside of Thomasville, GA. This position is located in the actual Sawmill and you will be responsible for fixing “cross ups” that occur as logs or lumber travel on decks and/or chains throughout the mill.

Do you have what it takes to work here? Working in a sawmill is not always easy and successful candidates:

• Willing and able to working a 12 hours shift (starting at 5:30am). Work schedule is Monday – Friday and we are currently working two Saturdays a month.

• Have a proven job history for staying at most jobs for a long period of time. You understand that you will never grow and expand your skills unless you stick it out and are in the position to take on additional responsibility and training.

• Know that every person that works here is a very important part of our operation. When someone unexpectedly calls out, comes in late or leaves before the end of the work shift, this causes a hardship to all those that work around you. Thus, we place a high valve on overall work attendance.

• Have recent experience working in a non-climate controlled environment. You will be hard at work in an environment that does not have A/C or heat.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Our mill is located in Metcalfe, GA which is located 10 minutes south of Thomasville, GA (southwest GA, just north of Tallahassee, FL). Local candidates (Thomasville and surrounding areas) will only be considered for this position.
