The Mission Frankfort Clinic is looking for an experienced and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our free dental clinic. The clinic is open three Wednesday evenings and one Saturday morning each month averaging approximately 20 hours a month. This part-time position will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help the dentist during patient examinations and other dental procedures. Between patients, you will clean rooms and replenish supplies. When not working with patients, you will also assist with administrative task, including maintaining dental supplies inventory, responding to dental messages and scheduling patients.

Administrative: 1) Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies 2) In coordination with Clinic Manager assigns task to dental intern 3) Orientate and assign student volunteers at each dental clinic 4) Responds to dental messages and scheduling patients 5) Scheduling volunteer dentist and hygienists for each dental clinic 6) Complete appointment reminder calls for scheduled patients

Support Services: 1) Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's requirements and troubleshooting issues and notifying Clinic Manager of needed repairs 2) Sterilize and assemble instruments 3) Prepares treatment room, instruments and materials for each patient for dentist and hygienist 4) Run spore test

Direct Services

1) Prepares paperwork/charts for scheduled patients 2) Assist dentist during procedures by handing instruments and anticipating their needs 3) Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping patient 4) Take and process x-ray 5) Educates patient by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and post procedure instructions, 6) Schedules patient for next appointment 7) Documents dental care services in patient chart

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
