Job Summary
The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for the operational leadership and management of clinical studies, and also direct management of Senior Clinical Managers, Clinical Managers. The Director oversees study operational strategy and tactical planning working collaboratively with the Business Group.
Key areas of focus include technical, content and management expertise to lead teams and complex studies executed within Clinical Operations. The Director works closely with external customers and vendors, developing relationships that enhance issue resolution for the clinical studies.
Essential Functions
- Align business and clinical operations objectives across multiple project teams.
- Create strategies and assist with the operationalization related to clinical operations
- Support the execution of clinical operations strategies and implementation of new processes and systems.
- Provide operational expertise in the development of the overall strategy and objectives of clinical plans and assume accountability for the timely execution of multiple programs across therapeutic areas.
- Serve as mentor and coach to team members. Manage and assess the performance of direct reports.
- Monitor the progress of projects and provide senior management with timely updates, changes in scope and resource requirements across the clinical studies portfolio.
- Influence work processes spanning multiple department and geographic boundaries.
- Lead problem solving and facilitate teams to identify clinical operations issues and propose solutions.
- Evaluate variances and oversee the development and implementation of remedial action plans when necessary.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree
- Must have a minimum of 12 years’ global experience within the pharmaceutical industry overseeing Clinical Operations.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills required.
- Strong personal integrity and customer focus are necessary.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of the FDA, EMEA,OIG, HIPPA, PhRMA, GCP and other global regulatory/ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and clinical trial conduct, to ensure compliance with external and Eisai guidelines and SOPs.
- Must to able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:
The base salary range for the Director, Clinical Operations, Alzheimer’s Disease & Brain Health is from :$177,000.00 - $265,400.00
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.
