REI Systems (REI) is looking for a Director of Data and Analytics to create innovation data-centric solutions for REI's clients. Working with REI’s Account Management and REI’s CTO, successful candidates will support REI's growth strategy and data modernization endeavors, while ensuring solution excellence for our customers. The position enables REI to provide best-in-class data management, visualization, and AI/ML innovations to our Federal customers. It also contributes toward REI's long-term strategy to organically acquire and retain customers and talent while expanding and deepening our portfolio of offerings.
Responsibilities:
Key Result Areas and Activities:- Understand and design data structures to support relational, reporting, and model training
- Develop a team to support multiple aspects of an end-to-end data strategy, including data governance, data security, transactional management, data engineering, and analysis
- Own a deep understanding of AI and ML technologies, as well as programming languages, algorithms, and statistical models
- Identify and assess the latest tools and techniques in AI and ML to ensure their organization stays at the forefront of innovation
- Foster internal REI relationships and mentor senior technical staff
- Develop a clear vision for how data engineering can support REI's overall business strategy and identify areas where emerging capabilities, like AI and ML can add value
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for implementing these technologies
- Manage a growth pipeline and support competitive technical proposal solutions
- Lead technical proposal solutioning sessions, driving to a compelling outcome
- Generate thought leadership aligning to REI’s technology strategy
- Lead responses to customer research activities
- Influence customers, employees, and partners
- Support decision-making for lead identification and qualification
Work Experience:- Delivery of enterprise-scale data management platforms for Federal agencies
- Leadership experience in technical proposal generation
- Capture and Sales support experience in the U.S. Federal sector
- Experience with and understanding of AI and Machine Learning is required
- Experience in Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Strategy
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, process improvement, and risk management
- Experience in end-to-end data-centric delivery methodologies
- Exposure to domain solutions such as emergency management, grants management, data security, or inspections
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required. A PhD in a related field is desired
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in data management and AI/ML.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience with demonstrated ability to lead highly effective teams
- At least one certification in a cloud platform like AWS, Google, Azure, Data Bricks or Snowflake is highly desired

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required. A PhD in a related field is desired
Location: Hybrid role coming to Sterling VA office.
