As the Director of Church Partnerships and Volunteerism, you will serve as the primary strategic leader for engaging faith communities, provide leadership in the development of a new model of LSS engagement with faith communities and institutions of the church, increasing LSS outreach to faith communities throughout the state with a specific focus on increasing volunteer engagement and philanthropic outcomes. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for the growth of congregational volunteers in the delivery of LSS services, helping LSS to live into the 5-year vision: “ask not what the church can do for you, but what you can do for the church.” You will also, provide coordination and vision for annual fund and specific appeals to faith communities across MN.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of the ELCA in Minnesota required
- Five or more years fundraising experience required, preferably with a faith-based organization
- Five or more years of experience in congregational leadership strongly preferred
- Pastoral ordination in the ELCA preferred
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, public relations and public speaking skills required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to travel to congregations if needed.
- Basic computer skills such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Experience with marketing and communications, volunteer management/coordination and project management and administration preferred.
