The Director of Operations (DO) will be directly responsible for human capital, insurance & investment operations, compliance, and technology for the firm. The DO will work directly with the CEO and Leadership Team to help shape strategy and ensure accountability in these respective areas. This role will manage direct reports and help to build their skillsets. Additionally, the DO will play an integral role in helping to develop operational efficiencies in sales, planning, and other day to day operations of the firm.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE

· Manage day to day operations of the firm and ensure team standards across multiple operational areas including but not limited to – directing workflow, managing sales data, managing team members, case preparation, data management, etc.

· Manage and train team members on compliance standards, work with Network Office and Home Office compliance teams to ensure operational functions of the firm are in alignment with company and industry regulations

· Manage compliance audits to ensure team members are prepared and have proper documentation

· Serve as primary escalation point for the operations team and various client relationship management needs to resolve complex client issues

· Maintain proficient knowledge in areas of investment and insurance operations to provide support to these respective areas.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND HUMAN CAPITAL

· Manage direct reports of the operations team

· Manage team of Lead Advisors towards activity and production goals.

· Manage and improve the operational process of the company by championing various projects and ensuring their completion

· Attract, hire, onboard, and retain team members through human capital management processes

· Work with Leadership Team to resolve team issues, develop strategic planning, and drive growth of the overall team

· Help design compensation and benefits packages for team members

· Maintain a working knowledge of contracting and licensing procedures for seamless onboarding of team members with various licenses and contract types.

Design and develop individualized growth plans for team members and help them to achieve desired outcomes to improve their personal skills and help the team development

· Maintain documentation of management discussions and growth plans for all direct reports

· Prepare, lead, and execute all team meetings and effectively communicate decisions from those meetings to the greater team

· Monitor and manage flex days, office holidays, employee time off, and other group benefits for the team.

TECHNOLOGY:

· Manage all IT efforts within the firm including software, hardware, equipment and tools

· Serve as first responder to team IT issues

· Maintain positive working relationships with Home Office and non IT providers and work for seamless IT operations with minimal downtime for team members

· Maintain working knowledge of all company and non company IT systems

· Serve as liaison between clients and the Home Office in resolving client technology issues and advocating for technology needs

TEAM DUTIES:

· Actively participate in all meetings conducted at the location and positively impact the culture, productivity, and expertise of the team

· Maintain and ensure compliance through all actions taken throughout your role

· Provide backup support for the operations and planning teams as needed

· Manage data and prepare reports as needed by the Leadership Team

· Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

· 7+ years of experience in operations – preferably in the financial services or other professional services industries

· 3+ years of direct people management experience

· Preferred licensing – Series 7 & 66, Indiana Life, Health, and LTC (must obtain licenses within set timeline if hired)

· Experience user of Microsoft Office Suite of software

· Master level knowledge of CRM Software (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)

· Good range of financial services knowledge and ability to expand that range

· Strong business oversight skills, particularly in relations to team culture, firm brand, client management and compliance issues

· Excellent personal and business communication and presentation skills

· Strong conflict and problem-solving skills

· Ability to develop, manage, coach, and mentor other team members

· Strong attention to financial detail

· Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and move with changes

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
