Dominican Village is a not-for-profit, senior living community and assisted living residence founded in 1992 by the sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, New York. Its mission is to provide a supportive environment in which the sacredness of life and the dignity of each person are held in the highest regard and to offer its residents a choice of programs and services which foster independence, promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health, and maximize opportunities for socialization.
We are currently seeking a full-time Dishwasher.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining the kitchen and dining areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Washes, cleans, sanitizes and stores all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment used to operate the kitchen and dining room areas.
- Cleans floors, equipment and other areas as assigned.
- Work closely with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
- Maintain kitchen in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
- Wash and store all dishes and equipment in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Keep kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied.
- Maintain dish machine after each meal by thoroughly cleaning and maintaining.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
- Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
- Assist cooks and wait staff as requested.
- Adhere to Dominican Village standards and food safety practices.
- Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Candidates must be able to lift boxes that may weigh up to 50 lbs and be punctual, reliable, flexible to work additional hours/varying shifts as needed and possess excellent customer service skills for interaction with residents and visitors.
Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine
