Job Title: Warehouse Dock Associate
FLSA Status: Full-time (Non-exempt)
Schedule: Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday
SUMMARY : This position is the entry-level position in the Chair King warehouse. It involves the preparation work necessary for delivery of merchandise as well as basic warehouse functions. The position will occasionally require the employee to work overtime hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Unwrap merchandise at the dock
2. Assemble merchandise at the dock
3. Clean and inspect merchandise
4. Touch-up merchandise as needed
5. Re-wrap merchandise for delivery
6. Stage merchandise for delivery truck loading
7. Sweep and Pick-up trash
8. Assist with Customer Pick-ups (CPUs)
9. Unload Receiving inventory containers and trucks
10. Other assigned activities from warehouse management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
