Our Dog Daycare Counselors are responsible for dog training, enrichment and socialization activities at our drop-off daytime program as well as interacting with clients and potential clients.

Responsibilities
- Engage in enrichment/ socialization activities at our drop-off daytime program as well as interacting with clients and potential clients daily
- Follows safe practices and procedures when introducing dogs
- Supervise dogs of all sizes and breeds in an off-leash group play environment
- Follows policies and procedures designated for Day Care Facilitates appropriate play and enrichment activities for adult dogs and puppies
- Provides positive command reinforcement which support students who are also in group classes
- Use a variety of positive learning techniques for dog behavioral changes, including a combination of operant conditioning through positive reinforcement and desensitization – examples: clicker training, hand signals, verbal cues, and reward systems
- Works with puppies on behavioral development exercises
- Conduct potential customer consultations
- Positively interact with pet parents in-person, via email, text, and phone
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have 6+ months of professional experience in a dog daycare and dog training
- Ability to read and promote positive canine play
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Knowledge in positive command reinforcement and behavioral exercises
- Must have a confident and assertive demeanor to help maintain control over the dogs
- Must have a keen sense for creating and maintaining a safe environment
- Must have a love for dogs
- Must be observant
- Excellent communication skills
Physical Demands
- Position requires person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out)
- Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs
- Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
